Jetton and Meredith founding partner, Mark Jetton recently sat down with WBTV Charlotte and WCNC Charlotte, providing legal insight into the jury selection process for the highly publicized murder trial of two men accused in the 2019 killing of Scott Brooks, co-owner of the beloved Brooks' Sandwich House in Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood.
As jury selection began this week, Mark provided expert commentary on the challenges attorneys face in seating an impartial jury for such a well-known case. Especially one with extensive media coverage and a projected trial length of several weeks.
"Most trial lawyers would argue that it's the most important part of the trial," Jetton explained. ""The reason why is because that's who's making the decision."
He also discussed how pretrial publicity and the expected length of the proceedings can impact potential jurors' willingness and ability to serve fairly and impartially.
