About
Eric S. Meredith
Attorney in Charlotte
Eric Meredith is a founding partner of Jetton & Meredith and has focused his legal career exclusively on divorce and family law. After graduating as a member of the founding class of Elon University School of Law, Eric and his law partner, Mark Jetton, established Jetton & Meredith in Charlotte in 2009. Since that time Eric has built a practice devoted to helping individuals navigate some of the most personal and consequential legal matters, they may ever face. He represents clients in divorce, child custody, child support, post-separation support, alimony, equitable distribution, separation agreements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other matters involving North Carolina family and domestic law.
Eric has significant experience handing complex divorce and equitable distribution cases, including matters involving closely held businesses, professional practices, investment portfolios, retirement accounts, real estate, executive compensation, and other substantial assets. He understands that these cases often require more than knowledge of family law. They require careful preparation, attention to financial details, and a clear understanding of how decisions made during a divorce may affect a client for years to come.
Personal Background
Originally from High Point, North Carolina, Eric is a first-generation lawyer whose connection to the legal profession began long before law school. His mother worked as a legal assistant, and Eric spent many afternoons growing up in law firms while waiting for work to be completed for the day. Those early experiences gave him a firsthand look at the legal profession and ultimately helped shape his own path toward becoming an attorney.
An avid golfer growing up, Eric was offered the opportunity to play golf at the collegiate level before ultimately attending North Carolina State University, where he graduated cum laude. He later attended Elon University School of Law as a member of its founding class. It was there that he met Mark Jetton, and the two decided after graduating to move to Charlotte and build a law firm together. They founded Jetton & Meredith in 2009, and nearly two decades after first making Charlotte his home, Eric has established deep roots in the city, with his parents eventually making the move to the Charlotte area as well.
Outside of practicing family law, Eric is an avid sports fan and can often be found courtside at Charlotte Hornets games as a season ticket holder. He and his family are members of Carmel Country Club, where Eric continues his longtime love of golf and now enjoys sharing the sport with his daughter, Sophia. Eric and his wife, Nadia, who is also an avid tennis player, are active parents at Charlotte Country Day School, where their daughter attends. As a family, they enjoy traveling and spending time exploring Charlotte’s growing restaurant scene and up and coming chefs.
Community Involvement
Eric is committed to giving back to the community through charitable support, mentorship, and involvement with the next generation of legal professionals. He remains connected to Elon University School of Law and has participated in panel and discussions with law students, sharing his experience as a practicing family law attorney and offering insights into building a career in the legal profession. He has also spoken with the UNC Charlotte Pre-Law Society about his path to law school, his experience as an attorney, and what students can expect from a career in law.
Eric also believes in supporting organization making a difference in the Charlotte community. He and his wife are longtime supporters of the First-Tee Greater Charlotte, Ronald McDonald House, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Dahlia Grove Nonprofit Organization through contributions to the organizations and their missions through volunteering, charitable giving, and sponsorships. Through his involvement with local organizations and educational programs, Eric remains committed to supporting the community where he has built both his family and his career.

"I cannot stress enough how great the customer service was with Jetton & Meredith"I cannot stress enough how great the customer service was with Jetton & Meredith, with my case being a little more complicated I had the opportunity to work with both Mr. Jetton and Mr. Meredith. I can say they know their stuff, Mr. Jetton was able to get my case dismissed the first time we went to court, no questions asked. Working with Mr. Meredith was a longer process but he walked me through the steps and gave me realistic expectations of an outcome that he was able to provide just as he stated he would do. I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision to hire Jetton & Meredith as my attorneys, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an attorney!- Former Client
